Antar Dasha

The sub period inside the major chapter.

What it is

Free

Inside each Maha Dasha chapter, every birthday year has its own ruling planet, the Antar Dasha. It runs from one birthday to the next.

Why it matters

It sets the tone of the year you are in, read against the planet of the chapter around it and your own Driver, Conductor and Vedic grid.

How the app works it out

For each birthday year, add your birth day reduced to one digit, your birth month, the year's last two digits reduced, and the weekday number of that birthday, then reduce. Weekday numbers are Sunday 1, Monday 2, Tuesday 9, Wednesday 5, Thursday 3, Friday 6 and Saturday 8.

What you see in the app

  • The year's planet on the Antar ring, today marked
  • A verdict that weighs the year against its chapter
  • The year's colours, day and mantra
  • The pairing of the chapter planet and the year planet, read together

Open Antar Dasha in the app, worked out from your own name and date of birth.
