The Personal Day Number is the smallest unit of numerological timing. It changes every twenty four hours and describes the tone of the day ahead of you.
Nobody should run their life on it. What it is good for is choosing between options you already have. If you can hold a hard conversation on Tuesday or Thursday, the day numbers are a reasonable tiebreaker.
How to calculate your Personal Day Number
Start from your Personal Year, then add the month and the date.
- 1
Work out your Personal Year Number.
- 2
Add the current month number and reduce, which gives your Personal Month Number.
- 3
Add today's date to your Personal Month Number.
- 4
Reduce to a single digit.
Example on the 12th, in a Personal Month 4
- Personal Month: 4
- Date: 1 + 2 = 3
- 4 + 3 = 7
Personal Day 7
What each day is good for
Day 1: begin things, send the first message, make the call you have been putting off.
Day 2: cooperate, negotiate, listen. A poor day to push and a good day to be asked.
Day 3: talk, present, socialise, write. Visibility works today.
Day 4: admin, systems, cleaning up, the boring work that unblocks everything else.
Day 5: change of scene, travel, unexpected opportunities. Keep the schedule loose.
Day 6: family, home, obligations, looking after someone. Also a good day for anything to do with beauty or design.
Day 7: think, research, be alone. A bad day for crowds and a good day for decisions.
Day 8: money, negotiation, results. Ask for the raise today rather than on a 2.
Day 9: finish, clear out, hand over, forgive. A poor day to launch anything.
The hourly version
The app breaks your personal day into an hour by hour timeline, so you can see where the energy sits inside the day rather than treating the whole day as one block.
That is the practical use for most people. You are not going to move a meeting because of a day number, but you might move it two hours.
Questions about the Personal Day Number
How much weight should I give the Personal Day Number?
Use it to choose between options, not to decide whether to act at all. It is a tiebreaker, and treating it as more than that turns a small tool into a source of anxiety.
