Pinnacle Numbers divide your life into four long stretches. Each one has a theme, and the theme tends to be what life keeps handing you during that stretch whether you asked for it or not.
The first pinnacle is the longest and runs from birth until roughly your mid thirties. The second and third run nine years each. The fourth runs from your mid fifties to the end.
How to calculate your Pinnacle Numbers
All four are built from your birth day, month and year, reduced.

Reduce your birth month, birth day and birth year each to a single digit.

First pinnacle: add the month and the day, then reduce.

Second pinnacle: add the day and the year, then reduce.

Third pinnacle: add the first and second pinnacles, then reduce.

Fourth pinnacle: add the month and the year, then reduce.
Example for 5 March 1990, where month is 3, day is 5 and year reduces to 1
- First: 3 + 5 = 8
- Second: 5 + 1 = 6
- Third: 8 + 6 = 14, then 1 + 4 = 5
- Fourth: 3 + 1 = 4

The end of the first pinnacle is calculated as 36 minus your Life Path Number, so it lands somewhere between 27 and 35 for most people.
Why the change of phase is noticeable
The move from one pinnacle to the next is one of the few things in numerology that people report feeling clearly. It usually shows up as a year where several things end at once and you cannot point to a single cause.
That is not a crisis. It is the theme changing. Whatever the first pinnacle was training you in has finished, and the second is starting a different lesson.
