Name Number Calculator (Chaldean)
Your Name Number is the total of the letters in your name using the Chaldean chart, reduced to a single digit. It describes how you come across to other people, so it can change when you change the name you use.

How the Name Number is calculated
- 1
Write the name you actually use, first name and surname.
- 2
Give each letter its Chaldean value: A I J Q Y are 1, B K R are 2, C G L S are 3, D M T are 4, E H N X are 5, U V W are 6, O Z are 7, F P are 8.
- 3
Add all the values together and reduce the total to one digit.
- 4
Do the same for your first name alone, which is how close friends know you.
Example using the Pythagorean chart for the name ANNA
- A = 1
- N = 5
- N = 5
- A = 1
- 1 + 5 + 5 + 1 = 12
- 1 + 2 = 3

Questions
Why does the Chaldean chart have no 9?
In the Chaldean system 9 is treated as sacred and is not given to any letter, although a name can still add up to 9. The Pythagorean chart, which runs 1 to 9 in alphabetical order, is used for the Soul Urge and Personality numbers instead.
Should I use my birth certificate name or the name I go by?
For the Name Number, use the name people actually call you. It describes how you are received, and that comes from the name in use.
Are accented letters counted?
Only the letters A to Z have Chaldean values, so accented letters, hyphens and apostrophes add nothing. Type an accented letter without its accent if you want it counted.
